Labuk Bay

The name itself today is synonymous to the famous reminder to of our most popular primate: Proboscis Monkey or locally among the locals as the Dutch Monkey or ‘Monyet Belanda’.

The major attraction of Labuk Bay is none other than the almost daily existence of these primates and perhaps among the best well know place for visitors who actually wants to see these long nasal primate up close. It is private owned and well maintained by a privately-owned sanctuary located within an oil palm estate.

Other than monkey businesses, the place also offers other range of sightseeing activities like exotic birds, most often best view in the morning.

Getting there is easy as it along Jalan Labuk, thus where it derives it’s name. It is located about 15km from Mile 9 Junction. The feeding time is 0930 & 1430 hours daily for Platform A and 1130 & 1630 hours daily for Platform B. Visitors can choose to reach there either by land or by boat. Daytrips and overnight stays are available.
