Itinerary	! Advance Booking Needed ! Mountain Torq's Via Ferrata - Malaysia's Wildest Outdoor Adventure! A via ferrata (or ‘iron road’ in Italian, plural via ferrate) is a mountain path consisting of a series of rungs, rails and cables embracing the rock face. It allows access to scenic sections of the mountains that are typically available only to rock climbers and mountaineers. The excitement, scenic beauty and personal conquest you'll experience on a via ferrata is guaranteed to give you an invigorating nostalgic experience for years to come. There are more than 300 via ferrata routes around the world predominantly in Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland and Spain, and a few places in the United States and Canada. The world's highest via ferrata, Mountain Torq - which also happens to be Asia's first - can now be found on Mt Kinabalu. Walk the Torq is a good choice for beginners who want to build their confidence in via ferrata. It’s an easy 2-3 hour activity peppered with frequent opportunities to take photos and enjoy the scenery. Suitable for the young and young at heart (anyone from 10-70 years old). Your overnight stay on the mountain is at Mt. Torq's Pendant Hut which is non-heated but comes with warm sleeping bags to keep you cozy. Hot water showers depend on how you adjust the water pressure but lukewarm is still good. The goal is to have a magical experience and the Mt. Kinabalu Via Ferrata is designed just for that. Tour itinerary Day 1 – Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park 0700hrs: Pick up from Kota Kinabalu city area and transfer to Kinabalu National Park (1,500m). Enjoy the 2 hour drive and watch the scenery change from bustling city to rustic views of forest-clad hills, villages and local markets along the way. Arrive at Park HQ and register for your mountain climb before picking up your packed lunch and transfer to Timpohon Gate to begin your trek. It will take 4-6 hours to reach the mountain huts at 3,300m where you will spend the night at Pendant Hut. Upon arrival, your Mt. Torq trainer will meet you for a 20-30 minute VIA FERRATA familiarization session. Dinner will be at Laban Rata. (L, D). Day 2 – Walk the Torq Via Ferrata 0200hrs: Early morning wake up to begin accent of Low's Peak. After reaching the summit for the sunrise, climb down towards Panar Laban Slab to do the via ferrata. After that return to Pendant Hut for breakfast by 8am-9am before continuing down to Timpohon Gate. Transfer to Park HQ for lunch and collect your Certificate of Achievement before returning to the city. (B, L).
